Good Morning Parents and Carers,
I thought it was timely to engage with you prior to heading into the Easter holidays.
The situation with COVID-19 is ongoing and continues to evolve daily.
All schools in WA, have been preparing for going ‘online’ and providing continuity of learning for Term 2 by distance.
Staff at EKPS have been busy preparing lessons, resources and learning opportunities for students K-6.
Our website http://www.eastkenwickps.wa.edu.au/ under ‘news and updates’ – ‘latest news’ will continue to be used to ‘post’ the latest news and updates.
In Term 2, parents are encouraged to keep their children at home. Those who need to send their children to school to maintain employment and children of essential workers may choose to do so– please contact the Principal to liaise – this may change and we will take direction from the Department of Education.
Public website and Online Learning packages
From the start of Term 2 you will be able to access online learning packs currently being prepared by teachers on our new website that has been created for easy access https://learning.eastkenwickps.wa.edu.au/. This site is password protected for privacy and confidentiality reasons and the password will be released to you next term.
From Tuesday 28th April, your child’s classroom teacher will email you daily with your child’s learning plan for the day. Your child’s teacher will be available to you via email or phone call to explain, clarify and touch base with you or your child as necessary.
If you are requiring an alternate mode of learning for your child, please contact your child’s teacher from Tuesday 28th April 2020, so that this can be arranged.
Collection of Personal Items if necessary
Teachers have compiled personal ‘essential’ personal items that your child may need, to complete their learning away from school. Collection of student personal items will begin tomorrow – Tuesday 7th April from 9 am – 3pm.
Parents need to collect items from the office only.
I look forward to updating you again soon with additional information.
